“Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com The Transits of 20102011: Find Our Place in the World. Ari Moshe Wolfe Part 1 of 2 Introduction: Part 1 of this article intends to provide an evolutionary perspective of our current time period, from the point of view of the current astrological transits. Comprehension of the following material requires no prior astrological knowledge. I do however make many astrological references for those who read that language. Part 2 will include some practical advice and guidance for all of us. I will also share a meaningful story and a personal dream. The past. In the 30’s there was a similar transit going on. This was Saturn in Capricorn, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Cancer. These planets started to come into alignment with each other, a T square, in 1929 and lasted the duration of most of the 30’s at which point the cycle had moved into the next phase starting 1939 (Saturn in Taurus squaring Pluto in Leo). What happened during that time? Worldwide depression, rise of Hitler and Nazi Germany, Stalin etc… Uranus in Aries has a lot to do with change in leadership. During the 30’s the entire world was either being ruled by a dictator, or by an enthusiastic politician. Tryants coming into power, and trauma because of that power. Uranus correlates to trauma, we’ll talk more about that later. Pluto in Cancer has a lot to do with national insecurity. Cancer rules home, more appropriately the internal energetic experience of feeling safe. On a national level Cancer literally correlates to one’s nation one’s home. Being a nationalist, being identified with one’s nation, feeling at home in one’s country, one’s tribe etc all these sentiments relate to Cancer. With Pluto in Cancer linked to its geometric resonance with Uranus in Aries (a square) what was happening worldwide? Nations, tribes, homes were being invaded. This happened by way of all these little collective identities (Cancer): the American identity, the German identity, the Jewish identity etc transforming from within. Eventually Pluto into Leo which took place towards the later part of the 1930’s and lasted for more than the next couple decades correlated with the grandeur, or lack thereof, of each of these nations/countries. The extremes each nation went to in order to “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com rise to the level of esteem and special ness they felt was appropriate to them. Pluto correlates to rape, violation, cataclysm, abandonment, and in essence all the possible ways in which evolution can become catalyzed. We’ll explore that more later as well. Lastly during that time we had Saturn in Capricorn and by the end of the 30’s it had made its way to Aries and Taurus coming back into a tight square with Pluto. I won’t get too heady with this stuff. I’ll just throw it out there that Saturn’s presence in the picture naturally correlates to the restructuring of national boundaries and simply adds to the instigating nature of these transits. The polarity between Capricorn and cancer correlates to the structures and thus the rules and boundaries (Capricorn) that provide containment for the existence of any national selfimage (Cancer). This is a basic look at the decade of the 30’s and a bit of what happened as an extension of that. I share this with you because these three planets, Saturn Pluto and Uranus have yet again entered and are still in process of entering into a very tight geometric alignment with each other. I don’t intend to scare anyone! I also don’t intend to make any predictions. What I hope to do here is talk about the nature of these archetypes, and what it symbolizes on the level of consciousness. Yes, changes are happening, and changes will continue to happen. These transits naturally indicate that we are just getting started. I feel we all know this on an intuitive level. Why look at the past? A couple reasons. As an astrologer, I get to notice that everything happens in cycles. I’m not much of a historian if I were then I’d be even better at astrology because then I’d have more data to objectify the nature of these cycles. Cycles repeat themselves. However each time it comes around it manifests at an entirely new octave relative to the changes that have already been established. So we can look at the past and see what archetypes were present then. Then, we can look at our present and ultimately find more archetypal understanding. The other reason for exploring the past is simply so I can show you that these planets do in fact mean business. So what is going to happen? “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com I won’t tell you! But that’s only because I don’t know. My intention here is to validate, and provide objective context for what is going on, and what will continue to occur. Within that, I hope to assist everyone in understanding the evolutionary intention of this time period. Meaning, what is being realized and what kinds of social purpose or direction can arise from that realization. Before I start talking about the transits, I want to give a bit more context for how I look at the planets. If it revolves it evolves. All the planets represent an evolutionary process that is always taking place. The movement, or transits of the planets are both a manifestation of what is as well as a synchronistic map of what is. We can look to any area of life and correlate it to the movement of the celestial bodies. We can do this on account of the basic principal “as above so below”. It’s literally true, in all cases. From that point of view, the movement of the planets do not cause events to happen. Rather they can be read as a map of what is happening on an archetypal level. They reveal a divine timing and order to things that is as destined as Sun rise and Sun set. When a transit is occurring, the way it manifests is entirely contingent upon the quality of awareness of those who are experiencing it. And so for example, as I have said these planets mean business. But what kind of business? It really depends on you. And not just you, but us. And not just us but ALL of us. Everyone in the world is experiencing this however, the way it is experienced, the events that take place, the choices that are made, are entirely contingent upon a person’s or a group’s collective level of awareness. Each natal chart represents the potential choices a soul can make in order to evolve, to grow out of the old ways of being. When we correlate these transits to a natal chart, we are looking at the core evolutionary lessons each one of us are here to learn and how that is applied to our current social reality. So all of this manifests on a super personal and super collective level. The T square intro. At this point I want to talk directly to the 3 key players in this alignment; to speak about what each one symbolizes in and of itself, and then, to synthesize the meaning of their particular geometric alignment with each other. I’ll also speak about the lunar nodes as well “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com as some other planets that make this T square (big deal) become a Grand Cross (even bigger deal). Pluto I wish to start with Pluto because Pluto really is in the center of all of this. Because, one, it’s the center of the T square. And two, because of what Pluto symbolizes. Pluto symbolizes the very nature of evolution itself. All of life is in a constant state of death and rebirth. It is a law that all things have to die. Therefore Pluto manifests for all of us in our natal chart as where there is the greatest amount of potential and desire within each soul to experience immense change, immense evolution. And just as much where there will be the greatest amount of resistance to change, to evolution. In order for evolution to take place, the old identifications need to be shed. There’s no end result death and rebirth keep on happening. If there was an end we can say that it’s one’s ability to live gracefully with the change: to grieve completely, to love completely, to attach completely, to let go completely etc. This allows for a constant state of transformation relative to the simple fact that life is a constant process of changing circumstances. Pluto reveals the objective reality of impermanence. A soul that has achieved such a deep degree of surrender is capable of helping others to do the same helping others to let go of what doesn’t serve them anymore, so they can more deeply embrace what currently is. This is why the Pluto archetype correlates to the shaman, the healer, as well as the psychotherpaist, or even the astrologer that operates from the point of view of the soul. All these roles assist others in penetrating into the cause, the root for any tightly held addictions and obsessions. Capricorn Capricorn correlates to the rules, structures, boundaries, definition, and laws that exist on any size scale, any dimension or plane. On a worldly level, Cancer correlates to the selfimage of a nation. Capricorn, the polarity to Cancer correlates to national borders, structures, governance, and rules that provide containment for the national self image. For example, the United States of America operates via a set of rules, regulations, laws, borders etc. And thus the American identity (Cancer) is contained within those structures (Capricorn). “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com Capricorn also relates to the phenomena of time the very nature of cycles. In Capricorn we recognize that there is a natural order and structure that we exist within. In this dimension, time is one of them. There are also other dimensions in which there are different rules. There are always rules wherever you go. The trick with Capricorn is that wherever you find yourself you can’t ignore the rules. If you ignore them, you’re gonna get nipped in the ass. Try stopping at a green light. Or walking outside naked. In this place that wouldn’t fly those are the rules here. In other places, with different rules, that may fly. And flying by the way won’t work either. Of course in other dimensions of reality which are here, they occupy the same space, yet exist on a different frequency there are entirely different rules that must be followed in which grosser rules do not apply (i.e. angels are not limited by the law of gravity). Capricorn also correlates to the spine, the skin both of which provide structure, definition and containment for the body as well as bones itself. Dentistry and Chiropractic work are two Capricornian professions by the way. Natural law and karma Nature herself expresses the Capricorn archetype via very obvious, though maybe too obvious, laws. These are called natural laws. When most people think of natural laws, the thought of gravity comes to mind. The natural laws I am talking about here are just as apparent and don’t need to be quantified by any science at all. If you cut down a tree… and then another… and then another… and then approximately 90 percent of all trees, in the world… first what are you gonna do with all those trees? Second based on natural laws, obvious consequences will happen. This is just one of a zillion examples of what I’m leading us into which is Karma. Capricorn, and by extension it’s ruling planet Saturn correlates to what we call Karma. Karma is simply a law that’s why it’s a Capricorn thing. It says that relative to the natural rules, all actions have a consequence. If you cut yourself you will bleed and you may scar. You may jay walk and not get a ticket, but don’t be fooled, you are still creating karma by the very fact of having created action. Karma isn’t a bad thing in and of itself it’s simply how it works. I don’t want to think in dualistic terms of good and bad rather, we can look at things as they are based on there being natural laws that have “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com already been set up by creator. Our relationship to those laws will effect what happens next. The thing that Capricorn teaches us is that the laws don’t change. With Pluto (death, transformation) in Capricorn (Structure, karma), we can already guess what kind of evolutionary process in currently taking place. The evolutionary dynamics of Pluto in Capricorn Consider this thought. Three things happen when a soul, or an entire planet tries to create a condition that ignores the rules: 1. Depression 2. Repression 3. Failure after failure after failure… 1. Depression Depression happens when life just doesn’t work. Depression often starts or picks up around the time of a person’s Saturn return or during important Saturn transits. What’s that all about? It’s a sign that the way one is living is not in accord with the rules. There are general responsibilities, obligations, and basic living skills that need to be developed in order for a person’s life to function in a way that works in this body, in this culture, in this society, in this spiritual universe etc. For all of us, this includes the rules of the culture, tribe, family, society that we are a part of we can’t avoid it. It doesn’t mean we have to CONFORM in all cases, it does mean that we can’t avoid it, and we have to responsibly integrate these rules into our own life. 2. Repression This is where sexuality and all forms of emotion comes in to play. We all have a sexual nature this sexual nature is universal in that it naturally represents a function of our own biology. When the rules and structures we have created do not recognize and honor the natural law of our biology be it sexual or anything emotional, then we create a dynamic of repression. Repression means we are holding back who we are because who we are isn’t socially appropriate (Capricorn). Repression leads to a polarization of behavior that expresses the opposite of what we are holding back from. This leads to an unintegrated and distorted “dark side”. 3. Failure Failure Failure Failure is what happens when our lives are depressing and repressing. Nothing works. We can force it to work but that will ultimately lead to more depression and more repression. We will either die, or go through something like a mid life crisis. “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com Now, on a collective level the entire world is experiencing these dynamics and HAS been experiencing these distorted Capricorn dynamics for as long as I am historically aware of things. Take this into consideration: In astrology there is a natural flow in zodiac from yin to yang to yin… What do you think Capricorn is, Yin or Yang? Many people think its yang it’s Yin. Capricorn is a feminine archetype. This may be surprising for those of who you envision Capricorn to be all about business… Well Capricorn is all about business. The thing is for the past… entire male dominated patriarchy… business has been associated with the impositions of the human built structures UPON natural law. It’s that very imposition that has created the repeated dynamics of depression repression and failure. Business in its most authentic sense is the natural structure and order of life which is graceful, immensely productive, efficient 100% of the time. Always on time, it is time. Mother earth herself is the defining boundary and structure within which we all exist. We’ve created some karma for ourselves having fought the law for millennia, seemingly having intensified our fighting in the very recent couple thousand of years, and even more so if the very past century. So what does it mean to have Pluto in Capricorn? It means significant death of the structures that are not in alignment with the natural laws. This means anything that exists on the supposition of permanence is facing an evolutionary transition now. The “permanence” of what we have so proudly created is a joke in light of the way things actually are. Therefore all symbols of Capricorn are under transformation. This doesn’t just mean the death, it means the birth Pluto symbolizes both. This is true every 200 something years when Pluto enters Capricorn. 1760’s and 1700’s= there were so many revolutions and battles that took place world wide including the independence war. This land was also made into a country while Pluto was in Capricorn. We have the complete removal (Pluto) of the old order and the birth (Pluto) of the new order. Pluto entered Capricorn a couple years ago just when all the shit began to hit the fan ON A PUBLIC level. “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com 3 ways evolution can happen. As said, Pluto correlates to the very impulse of evolution itself. Everything must change. Therefore Pluto in Capricorn promises change on all levels of structure. As I understand it, there are 3 general ways in which evolution can happen. 1. Cataclysmic change this happens when a person or a group resists the necessity to evolve. Because evolution is a necessity, certain events will occur to weed out the elements that were present in the group or the individual in order to enforce evolution. It’s possible to continue to resist change after such cataclysms, however gradually the necessity to evolve wins, and change does happen whether it’s pretty or not. 2. Consciously chosen evolution all of us can relate to the experience of cataclysmic change, and we can also relate to this kind of change chosen change. In this case, we have an awareness of what needs to change yet we aren’t sure how to do it. This is a very common dynamic for all of us right now. This is why I would like to validate and say that guilt, frustration, anger, rage, feeling lost or hopeless is VERY OK. All those feelings are actually signs of an emerging awareness. What Capricorn wants to teach us is we all have to take responsibility for the truths we have been avoiding. It’s not easy or hard it simply is. This is a time for immense selfhonesty. 3. The realization of new potential. This kind of evolution simply relates to the emergence of a new awareness of what one can do, which was previously not deemed possible. All three types of evolution can lead one into the next. Saturn We’re adding the next layer here. Saturn, as recently as the end of this past year has moved into a square with Pluto and will remain there for most of this year. This is a double wammi because Saturn is the natural ruler of Capricorn. So we have Pluto associating with the Capricorn archetype in two ways: 1, by being in Capricorn, and 2 by its geometric association with Saturn. Saturn’s role in this configuration takes place in both Virgo and Libra. The interchange between Virgo and Libra is “self improvement that enables a readiness for cooperation with others.” What’s happening to all of us now is we are each, in our own way dealing with our karma. Saturn, as does Capricorn= dealing with our karma; our resistance to whatever lessons we are here to learn. “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com Pluto and Saturn together truly intend to bring to the surface, to tangible recognition the natural effect of the ways we have been living. One thing that we are all learning is how to share ourselves with others. Libra is seeking balance within and without. It’s a learning process for most of us. Saturn in Libra can be so afraid of not being heard, not being loved by another that it will avoid dealing with the laws of relationing. These patterns 100% of the time simply don’t work. Codependency, contracts or compromises that create a false sense of agreement and balance that don’t reflect both partners actual needs, refusing to learn how to truly listen to another’s needs etc… Because of the Saturn Pluto interface involving Libra and Capricorn, we all need to open our ear to each other in the context of our deepest shit. Libra correlates to the psychology of listening. There is stuff that we are facing that we don’t want to look at, but that we HAVE to look at. Saturn in Libra is telling us that social isolation or relationships of superficial premises simply won’t cut it. We have to work hard at opening up to each other. On a national level this correlates to nations (Capricorn) needing to get along with each other (Libra). The need for cooperation and listening. If this can be achieved on a political level, there will be worldwide cooperation during this transition. Currently, at the time of this writing, Saturn is in Libra, moving retrograde until May 31 at which time it will be in a tight opposition to Uranus. Uranus: About 3 years ago, I purchased a book by Jeffrey Wolf Green called “Uranus: Freedom from the Known”. The following is an excerpt from my article: “No Protection Necessary: A Guide to Sleeping with Books.” http://astrologywitharimoshe.web.officelive.com/Documents/No%20pr otection%20necessary.pdf Casually, with no expectations, I decided to put his book under my pillow… This is the dream I had that night: I am at some memorial park. At this park there is a large plaque dedicated to the transits of Uranus through the astrological signs in the past 100+ years, and even into the future. I read it all but I didn’t read it with my eyes, the information on the plaques just made itself known to me. I recall a question was written under the Uranus in Aries section, “Will a dictator be the only way?” Then, I had a flash of perceiving utter devastation and poverty “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com worldwide. It seemed as if the entire world was sick and many people were afraid. There was a sense of emptiness and futility in life. Many people were waiting for the “right political leader”. I saw chaos everywhere, lots of violence and destruction, immense selfishness and greed. I do not take this dream as prophetic in a literal sense, I do take it as having been a personal experience in education. I was shown the archetypal essence of Uranus in the sign of Aries. Uranus correlates to objective reality of uncertainty. It also relates to the experience of Trauma. Why is that? Trauma is what happens when one’s experiences are greater than one’s capacity to contain the experience. It creates a shock for the soul the shock itself leads to dissociation from being who one really is. As a result of trauma, a soul carries the unprocessed past around. Our natal Uranus all speaks to that it correlates to where we have been traumatized numerous times. The intent of trauma is to enforce a liberation from the past and an openness to the unknown, to the future. By looking objectively at what has happened to the point where the events/experiences are no longer a shock, but rather seen for what they are, a soul is then free from the subjective holds of the past. It can view life and itself from a fresh point of view. And even more so, have a profoundly clear understanding of why the old ways are not as smart as the new ways (which interestingly enough, is often an new adaptation of the REALLY old ways). This is where the typical Uranus key words come in innovation, change, invention, free thinking etc. Our capacity for free thinking is contingent entirely on how free we are from the past, from the known. As Uranus moves through the signs, it correlates to where there is both immense innovation and change happening the realm of that sign worldwide, as well as where the strict restrictions of the past need to be released. Uranus is currently in Pisces, and is day by day moving closer to become a significant participant of this alignment. During this very spring season Uranus and Pluto and Saturn will come into the closest alignment they have yet come into during this current cylce. A tight alignment such as this will occur twice more during the next year. Until March of 2011, Uranus will move back and forth from Pisces and Aries, then spend the rest of the decade in Aries. Aries correlates to leadership, direction, the beginning of a new cycle. Uranus being in Pisces now, we can say correlates to the ending of a cycle whereas its continuation in Aries represents a worldwide calling “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com for new order, new leadership, new direction. This is a time for us to embrace a direction, a leadership, an initiative that is born from collective efforts not dictatorship, nor the idealization of one group or one leader. Uranus and Saturn already came into opposition with each other once. That was on the exact day of Obama’s election. I won’t give personal critique of Obama, but it has been my own experience, via the dreams I have had, that this soul actually does have immense potential to lead large groups of people into a more evolved society. I feel this is a choice he is and will be faced with. The nature of this choice is literally the tension between the known (Saturn) and the unknown (Uranus). He has the pressure on to make changes on a structural level (Saturn) that are in and of itself immensely radical (Uranus). The tension that exists when there is an opposition between any two planets requires great adjustment in order to throw off any circumstances or ideas that don’t allow for integration between these two planets. This will impact and support the evolutionary intentions of this time for a renewal of law and order (Pluto in Capricorn). The presence of Pluto involved in all of this is what makes it or breaks it. Pluto enforces that change will happen. Uranus is always about increased freedom. There is always a better way to do things that is more inclusive and beneficial for more beings. This is why Uranus correlates to groups of people and communities. Uranus in Aries is joint leadership. It is leadership that emerges from a new perspective, a new awareness that allows us to create a new path that will begin to stabilize itself in a way we couldn’t have imaged. This will become more collectively apparent in over a decade when Uranus enters Taurus (that will be a time of further discovering the potential of this amazing planet we live on to support us, as we support, honor, and love her). Uranus in Aries will naturally correlate to a lot of group uprising people coming together on the premise of evolution and change. In the context of this configuration it may be based on an actual resistance to evolution. In which case certain groups of people and communities will join together and instigate action based on their internal resistance to letting go of the old. This is naturally the time of revolution. In essence while the Pluto Capricorn Saturn component of this configuration requires taking responsibility and owning up, the Uranus component of this implies a “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com need for new direction that is only possible by breaking free from that status quo of the old and embracing the promise of what is potential. The 60’s The last time Uranus and Pluto came into direct alignment with each other after the 30’s was during the 60’s. This was via a conjunction in Virgo. The seedlings and intentions (conjunction) that were planted in the 60’s was a humanitarian image of the world, a better way to live, the birthing of a collective awareness. It coincided with massive war and oppression, yet also the first time war and oppression were publicly exposed to the level that it was. Now we have reached the next cardinal stage in this journey. This time Uranus and Pluto are in a first quarter square to each other. The nature of a first quarter square, which is a 90 degree elongation between two points, relates to a crisis in action. Now, I would like to talk about the lunar nodes as well as a brief mention of some other planets that will come into this configuration. The Lunar nodes. The lunar nodes, in transit, correlate to egocentric tension between the past and the future for any individual or group. The function of the lunar nodes is to challenge the subjectivity of a limited selfimage. As a general rule, unuseful patterns that correlate to the house, sign and the planetary ruler of that sign, of the transiting lunar south node needs to be released and redefined VIA the integration of the house, sign and the planetary ruler of that sign of the transiting lunar north node. All experiences are, in the end, integrated on an emotional level. The transiting Moon, and the transiting lunar nodes, by house sign and planetary ruler, and in correlation with our own Moon and lunar nodes by house sign and planetary ruler, correlates to the way in which our experiences are being integrated, momenttomoment. If that is too heady for you, don’t worry about it check out the next paragraph: With the current lunar south node in Cancer and the lunar north node in Capricron all of us need to develop our emotional maturity. This axis, meeting up with Pluto later this summer and squaring Saturn and Uranus creates a evolutionary emphasis on our role in this world, the responsibilities we are meant to own up to, as a means to successfully “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com integrate the intensity of this time. In other words, this truly is a calling to step up to the plate. Other planets. There are some other astrological forces that come in and out of this Grand Cross. Below is a snap shot of this upcoming summer, August 1 in this case. The lunar north node and Pluto are at the top of the chart. The south node on the bottom. To the right, Uranus with Jupiter. To the left, Saturn with Mars. Jupiter From April 2010, till March of 2011, Jupiter will be moving back and forth between Pisces and Aries just like Uranus. Jupiter expands and blows up whatever it touches. The alignment of Jupiter and Uranus exaggerates and accelerates the process of change. Many opportunities (Jupiter=elephant in the room) for change and new direction will present itself to us. This article doesn’t intend to go too deeply into Jupiter. However one piece of advice I will offer regarding Jupiter is to stay open to opportunities that present themselves to you. In some cases, Jupiter’s expansion and “luck” manifest itself via the loss of something that you thought you needed. “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com Jupiter is also associated with belief systems, politics, religion, international affairs, foreign commerce etc. So all those things will naturally experience an accelerated evolution and change during the next year. You are in process of radical change. The Transits of 20102011: Find Our Place in the World. Part 2 of 2 Introduction: In this section, I will share a deeply poignant story. I will also offer some practical guidance for all of us, and end with a personal dream. A paraphrased tale from, “The Space of Love”, chapter 3 By Vladimir Megre. In my own words, I wish to share with you a story, that when I read it had a profound impact on me for some days. When I tell it, I still feel it. Anastasia is a beautiful soul who lives in the Russian taiga forest. She speaks to the animals, the animals feed her and keep her warm, she lives without clothing or artificial shelter in the cold forest, she has a direct connection with all information and media that has ever been broadcasted on the earth, can remote view, comprehends the Truth of things, communicates with other beings that exist on a different dimension etc. She teaches that she is not supernatural, but rather is living the actual potential of human being. Her message to all people is that the way we have been living for a long time has become an obstacle to our direct connection with our very God given nature. Vladimir Megre, the author of these books, first began writing about Anastasia and her teachings after he encountered her on a trip into the forest. He was an entrepreneur seeking to learn more about the medicinal properties of cedar oil, so he could market it and make some money. That first trip into the Taiga in which he spent 3 days with Anastasia, deeply transformed this man. After he returned to his home city, he went through a crisis that resulted in abandoning his job and, “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com following the request of Anastasia, he began to record his experiences is a book. After that book was read (which ended up being the first of many of books) Anastasia quickly became a well known character in Russian culture. The story I am to share with you now starts with a group of scientists who, upon reading Vladimir’s first book, decided that Anastasia would be a profound contribution to the scientific community. Thefore, they arrived in the taiga, some of them via helicopter, with the intentions of taking her and “her” child, and all “her” animals to another “natural habitat” in which she could be closely studied and monitored from a scientific point of view. Of course Anastasia had no interested in going with them. From the helicopter came two men with guns, whom upon Anastasia’s refusal to cooperate, grabbed her. One man even shot at her. Anastasia says to them, “Please do not use force, it is dangerous”. “For whom?” “For you. And it would be unpleasant for me.” After some time, these men would not recant their violent ways. A dark cloud began to rise from the earth… what proceeded was very much like a “bad mushroom trip.” If you have not experienced a bad trip then it’s like a horrible dream. The dream being “just a dream” however the experience of it being profoundly real. This story I am about to tell was narrated from the point of view of one of the men who was there. The chapter of this story is titled, “What Hell is like”. This man describes that they experienced a sudden separation from their bodies. Their bodies began to act on their own accord while their consciousness both witnessed and felt everything that was happening to their bodies. First, their bodies jumped into a beautiful lake. They began splashing and playing in the water. It was childlike and enjoyable. Then they began urinating and defecating in the water. Then they began drinking the water. The narrator of this story says that he felt the feces moving down all of his organs. It was unbelievably grotesque and uncomfortable. Then, the men saw 2 beautiful, naked women pleasantly lying on the grass. The narrator came up to one of them and consensually had sex with her. Another one of the men came to the other woman and raped “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com her. Then another one of the men harshly beat up the narrator and raped the woman he was with. The Narrator’s body was in profound pain. He began to grow older. Eventually worms and maggots began eating away at his internal organs. The suffering was unbearable. He just wanted to die. He was dying and he felt so much relief in that. He wanted this to end. As he was dying, he noticed that the women were pregnant. One of them gave birth to a baby. The baby fell on the earth and the narrator felt the bump on his own rump. He realized that he was now that baby and that there was in fact no real death. There was no way to escape this hell. He says, “I realized that I, who was invisible, would never die and that I was condemned to eternal contemplation and an acute awareness of the nastiness of everything that was going on, experiencing physical and even more terrible pain.” He looked around and noticed that everyone was dying and then being reborn in a new life. They were each returning to the world they had left. At some point the narrator saw himself cut down some trees and build a beautiful house. Then another man fought with him and took possession over the house. He died and was reborn. More trees were cut down. Eventually the entire forest was converted into a cement city with tall buildings. This cycle continued on forever death and rebirth. Each time the conditions of the world they had created becoming worse and worse. More and more divorced from nature. Eventually this “bad trip” passed and all the men were back in the forest with Anastasia. They were all deeply traumatized. The effects of that experience changed them all for life. About his experience, the narrator told Vladimir, “We hind behind dogmas… and feel we can get away with any kind of filth we like. And let’s face it, what we do is filth. We all do it, every one of us, only we justify it to ourselves in different ways. But now it is absolutely clear that, as long as my consciousness has not lost its control over my body, I and I alone must take personal responsibility for all its actions.” Guidance for us all. “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com The reason why I share this story with you is to exemplify the dynamics of karma. During this time, we each are finding our place in the world via the intensification of self honesty and social awareness that these astrological configurations signify. It’s not a time, if there ever was one, for just being passive and living the way we have been. Sometimes that works and we don’t always have to face our shit. Other times, such as this juncture, it doesn’t work. That’s why the intensification of negative feelings (such as depression, shame, guilt, wishing to opt out) is something to welcome as a sign post for change. Those feelings are a healthy and natural biological response to realizing our own collective and individual irresponsibility. It’s meant to lead to deeper selfhonesty and desire to change. As long as we are involved in the process of taking personal responsibility, we are on a good track. It is a natural law that God/ess assists those who are taking it upon themselves to heal. In fact, during times of feeling really down, I often say to God/ess, “OK! I will do 1% of the work, and I want you to take care of the other 99%”. I recommend that to anyone! There is no reason (though I do it often) to push the infinite Love of the universe away from ourselves just because we have a low self image. How can our Mother/Creator ever “give up” on us? She desires the best for each soul. She wants to give us EVERYTHING. We are the only ones who resist receiving. Practical pules of the game: 1. Don’t give up. See that we are all going through the same process. Giving up will result in needing to do it again. 2. We are just getting started. And we are always just getting started. The nature of these aspects refines and measures the status quo of our life and makes adjustments where it is not working anymore. Naturally, we will all have the potential to find, with more awareness and willingness, the particular role that we are meant to fulfill in this world. That’s what Capricorn relates to everything has its place in the context of society, nature etc. Within the context of the world we live in, we each have a role to fulfill a social responsibility. The general key to see the nature of the role that you are to fulfill, and thus the areas of your life that are undergoing complete transformation now and for your entire life is to look at the house(s) that have Capricorn on them, and by extension the “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com facilitation for that role is indicated by the placement of your natal Saturn. To summarize that last point: a. In your chart, the house(s) where Capricorn is placed, in particular the specific house cusp, or cusps, that Capricorn is on, symbolizes the area of life through which your soul is meant to be responsible, own up and be socially accountable. It’s also where life simply won’t work if you aren’t willing to be honest with yourself and take responsibility for your actions. b. The ruler of Capricorn is Saturn. Therefore, the natal placement of your Saturn is the KEY to filing your social role c. This is what is it to “find your place in the world.” Stepping up the responsibilities that are designated specially for you. 3. Location is something that comes under play now. Saturn and Capricorn both imply the need to be grounded. Fulfilling social role implies having a strong sense of time and place that one operates within. For many of us, this time will bring a focusing of scattered energies when it comes to where we are meant to be in this world. Also, consider the Cancer Polarity to Capricorn the experience of home (Cancer) is held together through healthy boundaries and structures that enables meaningful participation in society (Capricorn). 4. To understand the nature of the action you are to instigate that will assist you in taking new direction that relates to your social purpose look to your natal Mars by house, sign and aspects. Mars is the ruler of Aries, which is where Uranus will spend most of its time for the next decade. The emotional body As stated earlier in reference to the nodes of the Moon, all evolutionary experiences are integrated through the emotional body. Therefore, I want to explicitly state that while this time period is leading to collective change; the various ways in which our karma, capacity for self responsibility, and ultimately our social role will be triggered and realized will happen through our emotional experience. Depending on the nature of our own karma the experiences that come to us now are truly meant to shape us in just the right way. If you are ever feeling really down and want to give up, there is one more rule of the game that I want to share with you: “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com In many ways this time IS a battle between the light and the dark. The duality only strengthens with the increase of awareness. For me personally, I have been very consciously choosing the light by sharing myself with the world. By writing, teaching, choosing a home that will allow me to be alone and stay grounded. By spending a lot of time in the forest. However while all this is occurring, I am regularly facing my lifelong tendency of depression even MORE intensely than I ever have! The key opportunity for me here is to not give up. I desire to actually learn the invaluable lesson that the depression is and always has been trying to teach me. This I recognize is intimately linked with the position of my natal Saturn, as it is for most of us. At key points during this time, we may feel absolutely clear and present, and at other times muddied and emotionally distraught. That is normal. I invite you to look around at everyone else. If we have compassion for each other enough to notice that we are all going through this in our own unique way, then we have taken a big step towards the light. One thing I have come to realize is if I stay in bed I won’t help ANYONE. If I get out of bed, I may be able to do some good in this world. I’d very much rather serve and not know who I am than not serve and not know who I am. I’m grateful for the being in bed part though, I seem to have pretty cool dreams… A dream about the not so distant future: I recently asked the question “during this transition especially as these transits are happening just before the larger celestial alignment of 2012, who will remain on this planet?” I am the world in the not too distant future there is a camp set up in which really kind folks are serving really tasty food. I expect there to be some sort of fee for the food, but it is all free. There is no money in this world. I feel a mixture of lightness, freedom, and disorientation. My instinct is to begin eating however a ticket is required, though not enforced. It seems the tickets are for the purposes are keeping track of something or another. A man walks with me to the location where I can find a ticket. During our walk, I notice that this man is very simply minded. He doesn’t seem to think for himself he just does what everyone else tells him to “Finding our Place in The World” www.arimoshe.com do. I look around and I realize that there are in fact many other people who seem to be just like him. They seem to lack the awareness of their own individuality, they were in a “consensus state” of evolution*. Reflecting upon this observation, I realize the answer to my question. All these people are alive on this planet because of their desire to share and help others. Sharing is now the new status quo. Respect for the earth is the new status quo. Only souls that have adapted to this new status quo are here. *When I refer to “a consensus state of evolution” it’s based on the natural observation that two people can live very different lives, yet share the same birth date time and location (thus share the same natal chart). The differentness between them is based on varying levels of awareness. For most souls alive on this planet, the archetypes of their chart express themselves via the filter of what is socially valued in the consensus of their culture. Evolution for those souls is marked by “mastering” that consensus reality. Thus, my dream indicated that these varying stages of evolution will still manifest on this planet. Consensus stage souls will still conform to what everyone else is doing, however the bar will be raised such that consensus reality= we all get along and help each other. What a profound and blessed message!
