August Astroview
This round of the cardinal T-square will include Mars, Venus and the asteroid Vesta by the time of the New Moon in the wee morning hours of August 10. The astrology of this event strongly suggests personal effects of the more global T-square event. Mars and Venus are conjuncting for the 3rd of 4 meet-ups during this Venus Journey and, with Vesta and Saturn in the mix, this is a prime window for those devoted to both inner and outer evolution. In this potent astro-symbolism, we have the fires of our passion fueling deep change to our former social roles and responsibilities which we realize are in fact now dried-out and stale. The kind of change this complex event describes will not be taken up by many, as it would require too much release of seemingly “perfectly useful beliefs.” Yet, we do know better. If it feels that jumping ship will only land you in the terrifying unknown, look closer. That dark place is merely yourself, playing hide and seek for perhaps the last time.
Adam with the Goddess Guy
Just completed a really rich conversation with Gary Caton, astrologer extraordinaire and host of Goddess Astrology Podcast (Facebook or Gary’s page). We talked about the upcoming Mars Venus conjunctions (8/20, 10/3), Saturn and Venus’ conjunction, and the possible astrological meanings of brightness, velocity and sky appearance. Gary’s also a good friend, so I always feel at home chattin up my Mars Venus work with him.
The piece will be posted early-mid August on the podcast page and we’ll announce it here on our calendar page. Hear from us about it >
Artfully Synchronous
Synchronicities are no longer counted by their single occurrences, but by the size of the wave they form when they happen. Another idea: we no longer need to limit ourselves into an exclusive association of a synchronicity with a positive experience or result. Many times – I’d guess far more than we’ve realized or can recall – a synchronous event washes onto our shores bearing reflections of imbalances or fear. In this light, the synchronistic moment may be one of the most under-utilized gifts to our development and healing.
By “synchronicity” I mean a non-linear link of events or inner experiences for which there isn’t any rational understanding. Synchronicities are wonderfully irrational.
A wonderful example of this crossed my desk this week. A young woman had attended a lecture I’d given on Chiron last year at an astrology conference. The lecture was scheduled late, 8:45p start time. I had decided early on that I’d utilize the lateness of the hour to offer attendees a version of a meditation I facilitate, called the Deep Heart Meditation. It goes wonderfully well with the Chiron work – more specifically, with the neurological and emotional effects of opening to one’s own natal Chiron. Fourteen months later, this week I receive this mixed media piece from her which she had been working on for a full month before attending the lecture and meditation:
If you haven’t experienced the Deep Heart Meditation, I think it’s fair to say it brings us deeper into ourselves more quickly and with greater ease than we might imagine is possible. How? By first becoming somatically intimate with the spaces around us. For more on the DHM, read here. In Jen’s piece, we see lots of the outer enviornment our left brains can recognize: trees, birds, etc. Centered in the figure’s chest is a heart, and a glowing or radiating heart at that. It is a strikingly accurate depiction of what we feel inside when engaged in this practice. Since that first lecture/meditation, Jen has become a dear friend and student of Soulsign Astrology. She’s using our unique approach to evolutionary consciousness in astrology to assist her main practice which is based on flower essence therapy. Find Jen here: EngagedHeart.com
The Big Blink
by Adam
In about 33 hours, the much heralded partial lunar eclipse (Full Moon in the path of the Nodal axis) will occur. Here’s my attempt to characterize what it may hold for us in light of our spiritual evolution:
This eclipse occurs amidst a crescendo’ing series of individually impactful transits. As such, it will trigger things. As I’ve chosen not to dip too deeply into mundane astrology (events, predictions, etc.), my focus has instead been on the evolutionary playing field which includes the human spiritual experience but is not limited to it. So, from that lens, I’ve been telling students and clients that this eclipse is occurring in the planetary/race’s soul as an ‘invisible beginning’ or a silent coagulation of mass intentionality. For most of us incarnateds on the planet, the eclipse will remain hidden deep in our unconscious. But for those awakened ones, which definitively does not mean Buddhas, saviors and avatars but anyone who has awoken to the deeper dimension of their creative spiritual potential, this eclipse in Capricorn/Cancer involving Pluto, Mercury, Uranus and Jupiter most prominently, is an opening, a holy blink in the Eye of God newly awakening to itself as us. It/We have the capacity, now finally, to consciously transition this bardo as seemlessly as an eye blinks. The planets involved and their sign positions speak directly to this interpretation of the eclipse event.
It might also be imaged as a collective Blinking – both as our individual selves and as a merged Oneness – of the Eye of God (or Aphatheta/Ka’tiim Sphere) on a scale not yet reached. We’re not only waking up and embodying and being our evolutionary Desire, we’re doing it holographically and holonically with large amounts of others. In all the awe of the Times!

“…in the way of Love”
Gifted spiritual counselor and psychic, Tony Leroy, recently sent this out. I feel it’s such a clear elucidation of a perspective we almost never take: we are the instruments of Life’s love for itself, and not the other way around. Tony’s site is here.

“In my meditation last Monday I heard the words, “Who are you to get in the way of God’s gifts and love”. Yeah… then everything started to spiral out of control from there. It was quite a bold statement surely in keeping with how my guides tend to hit me over the head with information. I have to say on some level I am still spinning from it. The deeper I get when I meditate on it, the more that is revealed to me (right now I am contemplating Dante’s Inferno and the seven gates of hell. Seriously. Oh, but I digress). Not only did I see how profound the statement is to me, I also saw the ideas of it at work with my clients… And of course – yes, it got them reeling too. I am now more keenly aware on how many levels I have allowed fear to blind my path. {{{Sigh}}} What an amazing power our minds have over us. It is really interesting if we could step back and become a witness to how much power it has over our daily lives. It really is our most profound love and our worst enemy. The ego fills us with such self-worth and sometimes way too much self-importance. These are mostly generated by an aura of doubt. I say this because the ego-mind truly wants us to feel bliss in accordance with paralyzing fear. We have all seen this at work in the world around us and in those we love. It is time to remember that within each of us there is infinite potential. We are all born of limitless compassion and LOVE. It is in our nature to draw to us what we need to survive and grow. Unfortunately fear, shame, and doubt seep into our very nature and has fogged our vision and our hearts. It’s time to remember… It’s time to channel all of those feelings of confusion and fear to become a way of certainty and unbending truth. The truth is that you are more than you could even imagine. Let us all see you for who you really are.” |
Cardinal T-Square & Essences
I was recently interviewed in a podcast about the upcoming (Summer) cardinal T-square of Uranus, Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter and the vibrational essences we sell here. Should be up on the Vibration Magazine site soon. Find it on their blog page ->.
Venus’ Strange ReBirth
If you were a part of the most recent Mars Venus Meditation which generated more responses – calls and emails – than any other in recent memory, this wee post will be something in addition to the info shared there. If you weren’t…well, you missed ou– oh, wait a minute, we posted it online…go there now to listen. Lucky you!
If you’re sensitive to the feminine in life, perhaps you feel the very beginnings of a re-warming going on. A better sense that things between people are juuuuust beginning to soothe out. Maybe arguments which ended things then, now become the reason for apologies or more civil convo’s. Well, believe it. Venus is now becoming visible to any locale on our planet with clear views of the western horizon. Sure, she’ll be dim but you’ll catch her if do a bit of research about where to look.
Venus’ return heralds her ReBirth Phase. It’s a time of celebration and of finding that deeper breath in the be- and relief that she never really left us at all (the Goddess that is), she just took a sabbatical in a hellacious way: her Transmutational Underworld. But now, as I write, Venus is right there with Uranus, planet of all things chaotic, futuristic, new and next. And they’re meeting up right at the RIGHT fish of the Pisces constellation. What to make of this?
We’ve got three variables here:
- Venus’ ReBirth Phase – the larger theme
- Venus with Uranus – the inner and mundane alchemical formula
- Venus/Uranus in the Fishes
Mashing them up, we see this ReBirth may not be smooth sailing, may be filled with more confusion even if we finally get the facts we’ve been waiting/searching for, and just may result in really unexpected results leaving us scratching our heads how things ended up the way they did. It will NOT be lacking, however, in originality and apparent confusion. On a larger view, Venus’ alignment with Uranus at her ReBirth blesses us with yet another injunction to prepare for the unpreparable – extra stockpiles of love, patience and understanding. And keep stuffed into pockets and be ready to whip out your ability to help out another if you’re both willing.
An altogether and not-untoward Feminine ReBirth (of ourselves) to us all!
Back from Boston
The national astrology conference (NCGR, for National Council for Geocosmic Research) in Boston was big success. My definition of success, here, not the organizers, though i’m sure they’d check the same box but for different reasons. Success, to me, because there was a palpable sense of community, of connection. BIG GRATITUDE to the organizers for their thoughtul and heartful shaping of the weekend for everyone: Madalyn, Gloria and the others whom I don’t know.
For my part, I had a new experience. I was to lecture at the last time slot on the last day, along with my colleagues in other tracks lecturing in different rooms. Yet a few hours before the lecture was to begin, I felt quite tired and ‘complete’ in terms of the weekend experience – with the banquets, dinners and Mikey Lutin’s hysterical-and-profoundly-insightful musical one evening. For this very reason, I was relieved and grateful when about 30 people still managed to make it to my lecture and sit through the whole thing. I was told people really liked it and appreciated the beauty of the slides I prepared – photorealistic images of the night sky, Mars, Venus; new info like the “Mars Flower” – the celestial pattern Mars makes with its retrograde loops; and the astronomical info about the planets themselves. One respected colleague from Chicago later complimented the lecture as being “revolutionary”. My Aquarius Mercury really liked that!
I attended the lectures of some awesome astrologers doing excellent work to illuminate both our past and our future: Gary Caton, Wendy Stacey and Christopher Renstrom.
For someone who’s been largely in a ‘professional closet’ when it comes to interacting with colleagues, the conference experience offers me something I receive nowhere else: a meaningful exchange of ideas with others speaking my language (astrology). It’s like finding the perfect beverage to quench your thirst. I feel fulfilled and supported. HIGHLY recommended for anyone working in a specialized field: make sure to spend time with colleagues to compare notes, check your thinking and offer your insights for others.
Venus’ Transmutation: Tiger loses his roar
I’m honored that my recent article for the Mountain Astrologer Blog site was responded to so well. This week’s article is by TMA’s online editor, Mary Plumb, who took inspiration from mine in crafting hers. Her piece bridges my theoretical template with excellent mundane alignments by Robert Blaschke to socially frame Tigers’ downfall as iconic American hero. Definitely recommended >
Not Enough for Transformation
I recently responded to a post by a fellow Soul counselor whom I don’t know. The post was in response to the 2nd part of an audio conversation of Tami Simon and Ken Wilber on the Sounds True site.

Thank You! I am fascinated and thrilled by this integrative process, yet come away from it with many unanswered questions.
For example, an individual may have a high anxiety that is his so-called “monster”. Putting Mr. High Anxiety in the chair and taking a look will not result in the dissipation of that anxiety. So where is the transformation?
As you say, introspection isn’t enough. To be conscious of this problem is not enough. Meditation is not enough. A person may be keenly aware and acutely conscious, yet unable to overcome it.
Such practices may bring us to the tipping point of transformation, but what actually effects it in your opinion?
I understand the 1-2-3 process, but it seems to fall short of true transformation. It merely objectifies our shadows, or so it seems.
Thank you Ken and Tami. Hopefully we will hear more from you on this important work.
In deepest appreciation!

Greatly appreciate your question Jo-Ann; it’s one i’ve been intensely focused on for many years as a counselor.
For what it’s worth, my current understanding is that what pushes us past that tipping point into actual transformation (whatever that looks like and wherever it occurs within the person’s body/mind environment) is the cellular recognition, or vague sense, or even subconscious a-ha that the old way doesn’t work anymore, that the familiar path is now boring, that there’s no juice or evolutionary orgasm-potential. “The Divine Juice has left the building.”
Developmentally, I see this as the ego’s prior need to perpetrate its inexhaustible thirst for safety has become 51% or more extinguished, used up. So naturally there will be more space in precisely those places in the body/mind which formerly housed egoic beliefs and systems of reaction.
In my practice with clients, I’ve greatly benefitted from Ken’s emphasis on the need for authentic post-postmodern shadow work. Lots of material available from Ken and others on their sites. Maybe integrallife.com would be where to start?
Just as the shadow in this context is referencing a whole dimension of self (albeit a thoroughly rejected one), there are large numbers of techniques and expressive exercises which are just waiting for each of us to discover, in that harrowing and intensely-refreshing way that only our shadow offers.
Great blessings!
