Calculating Eros!
This one is just too rich not to comment on:
“The Eros Parallax Project runs from January 28 to February 3…. Using the data submitted by all participants, the distance to Eros will be calculated.”
You heard it here first – 5 billion people are coordinating to measure their (personal? genital? orgasm?) distance to an erotic experience !
Actually, that’s not true. But if you and I were enjoying a cup of something together right now, there’d be a long string of jokes over this event that would be flowing out of my mouth.
Eros is in fact an asteroid and there’s an effort by an astronomer to measure our distance to Eros as it passes its perigee, it’s closest distance to the Earth. But the real mission behind this is to measure with precision the size of our solar system. All the information and explanations are here if you’re interested.
But how wonderfully absurd is the human species that we can organize ourselves around our Eros to perform exclusively left-brain tasks? or, How sad that we still don’t know how large and how erotic we are?

The 2012 Venus Transit: the Solar Feminine +

And here’s a little visual aid, which I hope becomes a Heart aid, if you watch the movements and feel them in your body. It’s an exercise of ‘somatic astrology’, a way of participating with the sky and our planetary neighbors that doesn’t require sending or projecting yourself far ‘out there.’ Rather, you bring the experience home into your heart and feel what it is for you in that sacred space.

The Heart of 11:11:11
The energetic, intelligent heart of today’s 11:11:11 portal is YOU……the human being.
Here’s the audio recording of last evening’s creative exploration of the 11:11:11 portal/stargate/openheart event. About 20 people gathered from across the US, Mexico and the UK by teleconference. The group of souls who participated were ready. It was a pleasure to facilitate. Group coherence was easily established up front and remained consistently in the heart space throughout.
After some brief explanations about the what the 11:11:11 might represent, the mind-blowing synchronicity of its astrology today – full 6 planets at 0 degrees of different signs, and a brief intro about what I’d be facilitating, the highlight of our time together was what happened for/through us during the planet-star-constellation invoking. First time I’ve done this form of ‘astrology’ and I hope not the last! It was a quietly thrilling experience for me.

Venus ReBirths
Venus is about to reappear for us.
She’s been inside the Sun since July.
Stop for a moment, say these two sentences to yourself, and close your eyes.
Voicing these sentences aligns you to your own personal Right Now in a celestial context. The more you can feel subtly (feelings here, not necessarily emotions), the clearer and more visceral will be your experience of this alignment. Maybe repeating them a few times would help, or just once is enough.
Understand that the specific words in each sentence are not magical or holy or an English translation from some ancient text thereby implying authority. They are, however, infused with my fascination, respect, love, and knowing of this gorgeous Phase of re-awakening.
This is Venus’ ReBirth Phase, when she re-appears now in the western sky after sunset. This is Venus as Evening Star. Each of Venus’ 13 phases reveals a specific and nuanced type of development of our femininity, both personally and collectively, for both men and women. This map of feminine development will appear in my next book, due out in March or April of 2012.
The ReBirth Phase is the time for re-asserting ourselves and our feelings about the things that matter most to us. We find ourselves begining in earnest this time, or beginning again. It doesn’t have to look like writing or speaking, but it will cause us to act. ReBirth-driven actions are not as quick as in the earlier Birth Phase. ReBirth choices – those we make during any ReBirth Phase of Venus – carry more awareness or ‘informed instinct’ about how to get what we want. The context or larger picture of our choices is easier to hold onto. And within the largest picture – that of human femininity now – ReBirth catalyzes our species’ understanding of life and our relationships with all its forms. How big and how accurate your personal feminine context is your own of course. ReBirth is very beginning of this process, which crystallizes archetypally at her Wholeness Phase (Mar 24 to May 13).
ReBirth is also a time of re-devoting to what needs a fresh start even if we’ve unsuccessfully tried (and tried) before. Perhaps that experience of missing the mark or getting hurt can be carried forward into this new attempt, to help you.
Don’t know if you’ve read the recent slew of (mis? dis?)information on ‘comet’ Elenin, the Brown Dwarf, the Dark Twin – all ‘foreign’ objects moving very close to Earth and the rest of the inner solar system – allegedly causing pole shifts, a reduced protective layer in our upper atmosphere, major earthquakes and the like. Some writers also report on ‘secret’ strange buildings created to house a few hundred thousand people, in the aftermath of large-scale population re-locations from geologic catastrophes. Let’s briefly look at this from Venus’ Phases, keeping in mind that YOUR OWN KNOWING about the veracity of these predictions and how much prep if any you are internally moved to make is the MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR. Key dates I’ve read are Sep 26 and Oct 17.
Sep 26 is the ReBirth Phase. More of humanity will see Venus just after sunset. Look for her just to the south of the set Sun. When you catch your first glimpse, take her in and feel what stirs in you, no matter its content. On the waves of those feelings or sensations, renew your #1 devotion to your own life and what you’re here to be and to do. No, you do NOT need to konw what that is in order to completely devote yourself to it. You only need to intend with every fiber of you that it’s so.
Oct 17 is just after the beginning of the Remembering & Embodiment Phase, the phase after ReBirth. I’ll have more to say about this phase in a future post, but in keeping with where we are now, here is where we begin to discover that we already possess the abilities we will need in the future. Here is when those innate knowing skills are blatantly required in a very tangible sense. Here is when we just begin to awaken to ourselves in a whole new Light.
If you feel to make preparations for major changes to your way of life, go for it. If you feel to do nothing or read nothing about what changes may be coming, go for that too. It’s simple and direct: get in touch with your knowing, don’t let fear drive your choices (into reaction or into denial), and act unwaveringly on that knowing. This is the only sure, true way to proceed. I celebrate your Knowing choices and your freedom to live the life you desire.

The Axis of Lost/Found
In a few days, on August 16 at 7:44a EST, Venus will form the other axis with Gaia and our Sun in the middle. From our home planet, astrology demands we call this a conjunction: Venus conjoining the Sun. Yet if we take a spatial look, we see instead an Earth/Venus opposition or, as I just mentioned, an Earth-Venus-Sun axis.
Any astrological opposition can be read, not surprisingly, in at least two opposing ways. One being the two bodies have different intentions and polarized strategies. They argue for opposite choices from one another. And the second way of delineating an opposition is as “an opposite-facing conjunction.” That is, a planetary opposition viewed from Earth always has Earth in the center of its energetics. “Opposite-facing conjunctions” aka oppositions thus are setups or strategies for us Earthlings to wake up/accept/embrace/celebrate the specific gift formed by the opposing tension of the planets involved. I’ve always taught my students to see it as a rare diamond hidden in a mass of silly puddy which only becomes known when it’s stretched from both sides. Let one or the other go and the gem disappears into potential-only.
Whenever this alignment forms between the three bodies, Venus is at the midway point of her 19-month Journey (here’s a link explaining the basics of the Journey). At this level, she signifies all the parts of us whose days are numbered.
She’s furthest from Earth (apogee), completely invisible (cazimi) in the Sun’s light, and moving at her fastest velocity. One can easily understand why I’ve termed this phase, Transmutation (“TMU). Without the symbol for our feminine in our skies during this extreme moment relative to Earth, our inner feminine feels Her longing the deepest and surrenders herself to the very process of evolution. Transmutation, Venus’ superior conjunction, is her 2nd conception at the esoteric level. The first began the Journey at her inferior conjunction, which I call Self-Conception. But now, halfway through, she must consciously let go so that the new instructional codes from our own deepest knowing can be successfully seeded in our heartbodymind.
Don’t put too much effort into understanding what’s happening, if you find yourself living out Venus’ saga. Rather, attend to the process itself. Don’t distract yourself. Stay focused on your feelings whatever and whenever and whyever they are. Retrograding Mercury will make sure you don’t lock into any beliefs or over-rely on familiar cognitive patterns.
At 23 Leo, I am interpreting this conjunction (including Mercury) as a “Forthcoming Etheric New Heart Template.” Huh? Let me explain:
Forthcoming - The conjunction occurs in front of the Lion’s heart, not in his/her body, suggesting a result to come later.
Etheric - All things we say, do and think have their origins within our energy bodies as potentialities. As this Journey’s TMU celestial event, the choice to act from true courage, blind faith or fear is entirely our choice but the fact remains that the two inner planets with the Sun bespeak very internalized, hidden parts of ourselves. The potential to use this timing for growth or let it pass by resides waiting in our ethers.

Introduction: The following blog is “out there.” Sure, it’s about astrology and the sky and stars and all, but that’s not what I mean. It was written to respond to the very large response to an earlier blog (June) in which I invited readers to show how authentically 5-years-old they could be:
Excerpt from “Summertime Venus Chronicles”, 06/11: A note to my more esoterically-oriented reader friends: there is another view of this area of space which is too woo-woo for anyone over the age of 5. One simply needs to suspend all disbelief to grok it. If you wish to receive this bonus material, please send an email and include the best proof that you can concoct that you are indeed 5 years of age or younger. And, no, forgetting your keys for the 100th time doesn’t count. Being unable to finish a sentence longer than 3 words is a stronger case however.

About.com’s astrology expert, Molly Hall, contacted us a few weeks ago to learn more about Soulsign Astrology and the other spheres of the Soulsign work because, she said, she was really intrigued by our combining of astrology with sound in theory and practice.
This then led to a first conversation, not really a Q & A, in which I quickly dove into topics at a depth it usually takes several talks to get to.
