And here’s a little visual aid, which I hope becomes a Heart aid, if you watch the movements and feel them in your body. It’s an exercise of ‘somatic astrology’, a way of participating with the sky and our planetary neighbors that doesn’t require sending or projecting yourself far ‘out there.’ Rather, you bring the experience home into your heart and feel what it is for you in that sacred space.

Thank you for this treasure Adam. I watch the stars and planets constantly and have a wonderful view from the southern tip of Africa….I have to invert your maps to see your way, but once I get your point then I go back to my view of the lights. I know for some it is important to plan sightings, but my experience – perhaps due to my passion and also the nature of Venus, who loves to be seen – is that the events do show themselves, even if it is a moment, a cloudbreak. It is magic always.

I couldn’t agree with you more…the experience of seeing/being seen by the lights is the most tactile way to commune with the sky and our own natural rhythms. Thanks for writing, Anni. Then it sounds like astronomy software on the computer can work really well for you to let you know what’s in your skies, so that when you do go out, even if there’s little visibility you can use your heart to ‘see’ what’s up there. Just open yourself without needing to use your eyes to see anything. Indeed, sometimes seeing with our eyes is the biggest distraction to what’s really up there!! Love this Adam !! a shift in my body when Venus turns and starts it’s downward ,a vibration when it goes by mercury and then when it hits the sun..a sensation of overwhelm in my heart and forehead..i do have the august 2011 venus casimi on my natal sun therefore in my return and still trying to figure out what the h is going on with me this year…merci and have a great week !!

The new software for synodic cycles is called Sky Engine and it’s basically a dedicated search engine for finding any cycle, any phase or any combination of the two based in any system’s definitions: archetypal, shamanic, hellenistic, medieval, and dharmic. The web site explaining it all is: SkyEngine.us Marcia mentioned you love following what the sky actually looks like, so Sky Engine is perfect for knowing instantly which synodic phases were active at any point. You also asked about the planetarium software. I use Voyager from Carina Software. The recording software was Camtasia Studio.
Re. your comment about Venus at El Nath…I agree. Relative to the Hyades (the junction of the Horns), El Nath is the marker of the path to Galatic Center, which is why I believe the older literature has El Nath as pure power, which can be wielded for good or ill. Venus is not just passing by El Nath, she’s stationing there, using El Nath as her turnaround. I wrote about this is the Venus Transit essay. That piece has received some positive feedback from a few excellent astrologers.
